Plaque Unveiling Ceremony Commemorating Kermanshah as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy

According to the public relations sector of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, a plaque unveiling ceremony in honor of the city of Kermanshah joining the Creative Cities of gastronomy was held on July 8th, 2022. The ceremony took place in the city itself with the presence of Dr. Hojatullah Ayoubi, Secretary-General of the National Commission, the Kermanshah governor Mr. Bahman Amiri Moghaddam, and other provincial officials.
Prior to the ceremony, Mr. Amir Moghaddam spoke to Dr. Ayoubi, saying that the priority of the governorate now will be to showcase the beauty and richness of the Kermanshah province so that it can return to its former glory in the Iranian conscience.
The request to have Kermanshah become a Creative City has been in the making for some years now, according to Dr. Ayoubi, and thanks to the efforts of everyone involved in the process of crafting Kermanshah’s case, the city was finally accepted. “the diversity of food within this city is incredibly important, as it keeps the ancient lifestyles and cultures of our nation alive,” he said.
Dr. Ayoubi went on to mention that Kermanshah’s new position as a UNESCO Creative City can be an exceptional opportunity for it to attract new tourists and allow the city to become internationally recognized.
Lastly, Dr. Ayoubi noted that the Kermanshahi people Should continue to proudly preserve the spirit of the city with its bright history and ancient cultural heritage.
